Aromatherapy Have you ever experienced smelling a certain food, or aroma, and suddenly it takes you back to remember an event or a person? This shows how much aroma's can affect our brains. In the research I've done, I've found that essential oils have different affects on our moods. For instance, lavendar is said to relax and calm you, while rosemary is said to make a person more alert. My short list below is some of the ways certain essential oils might make us feel. Grapefruit- Helps your circulation Sandlewood - Helps with anxiety Chamomile - Helps with relaxation The simple way to test these things is to get a few essential oils and try them yourself. I can say that I've tried the lavender (I love lavender) and it does really make me calm and relaxed, I spray my pillows every night when I got to bed with lavendar spray, not only does it calm me, but it smells wonderful too. I also found that it puts me in a great mood, which is good for my husband. You will have "aromatherapy" every time you light a scented candle. Light the candle, and enjoy the aroma. Aromatherapy does not have to be at all complicated, it can be as simple as lighting a candle. I can tell you that if you try this aromatherapy just once, you will be hooked for life. Not only do I use lavendar at night, but I also like to use peppermint essential oil during the day, for a quick "pick me up". It also helps me get rid of a impending migraine headaches when they decide to show their ugly heads. I'm not saying this will work for everyone, but it does help me. I think of aromatherapy as a simple luxury that I indulge myself with, am I'm worth it, and so are you! I will be writing more articles in the near future. The next one will be little ways to use aromatherapy in your home. Please do not copy this article without my permission. I researched this subject and took the time to write it.
